Tread Softly

Let us tread softly upon this good earth.

Let our footsteps miss the fallen buttercup
glide over the pine cone
release the fragrance of renewal.

Let our thoughts of courage swim gladly
in an atmosphere of effort.
Bathed in hope
let them flow upwards into the receiving sky.

Let our minds fill the stars with wonder
and our hearts with love.

The Spirit of grace and loveliness
tucks our world in with light
invites us to dream
asks us to tread softly
upon an emerging new earth.
