Poems for the Smiling Heart

Seeds of Light

An early, shimmering snowflake slips through the air
glances at the surprised grass,
and settles nicely on a dried oak leaf still clinging to its autumn branch.
“A seed of Light,” breathes the gentle wind.

A bright spark of warmth dances out from the evening bonfire
and just before it passes away,
luxuriates in the laughter of youthful voices.
“A seed of Light,” sings the nightingale.

A thought of love drifts out across the ocean
and scatters seeds of Light to the arid land below.
Waiting hearts are replenished
and this good earth is refreshed.
