Over many lifetimes
our fingers have read stories on bumpy paper
and played with the keys
of music and mathematics.
Our hands have smoothed out
frowning brows
and braided ribbons of understanding
through strands of tangled thought
Over many lifetimes
minds have shattered theories of atoms and universes
and bodies have enjoyed
the graceful geometry of motion and memory
And now
waves of repose lull us in warm radiance
molecules melt into gladness
comforting arms welcome us home
