Leaving

I am leaving now
and drop the heavy rake
autumn leaves freed
by a kind breeze.
I am leaving now
and pick the last aster
it winks at me knowingly
and allows my caress.
I am leaving now
and spot a star in the twilight
it takes my place
with elegance and mystery.
I am leaving now
and gather up my belongings:
music, poems, paint and prayer
nicely folded in my heart.
With the utmost care
I tiptoe out
and close the door of this world
behind me.
