Into the Sea

As I stepped into the gentle sea
I asked myself, “In which direction should I swim?”
The surrounding silence was filled with breath
it lifted the clouds
stirred the waters
steadied my soul

From within the smooth sunny stones
that lay leisurely at the edge
a warm voice replied
Go anywhere…go everywhere
I am with you

I smiled
walked further out
knowing
that my physical body might float motionless
in the waves
but
I would be lifted up
for
beyond the molecule
lies Life
