Poems for the Smiling Heart

Come

“Come flow with me,” said the river
to the hesitant grain of shoreline sand.
“Together we will journey to the eternal sea.”

“Come fly with me,” whispered the wind
to an orange leaf readying its travel.
“Together we will watch the world from up high.”

“Come melt into me,” murmured the snow
to a lingering seed fallen from a twig.
“Together we will sink into the quiet earth.”

“Come live with me,” hummed the holy Light.
“Together we will disappear into the Great Expanse.”

I closed my eyes.
All the stars of heaven fell into my heart
and I let go.
