AFRICAN ANCESTORS

I received a call the other day from a voice above, warning all there's a
price to pay when simply ignoring messages of the Dove.

Ancestors on all sides trumpet out the tune, reminding all there
can be but one shared earthly moon.

A time to join hands across divides, if we're to
retain blessings of the guides.

A proud heritage dug out of the African soil, as delivered through
much sacrifice as borne out of blood, sweat, tears and toil.

Africans of all shades, lay bare mistakes of the past, as is time to
form new partnerships while sharing if it is to last.

We are all Africans in more than mere words, ready to break free,
standing proudly to allow divine light flow deep
within equal souls.

Finally deliver sanity by recognising the parts make up a whole.
Heart of an African is in the right place, as cast to futures,
irrespective of race.

We're all African to ring out tunes, while reminding all we have
but this one life cycle and lands to ruin.

Once gone is hard to repair, while all others around simply stand to stare.
Bring forth goodwill to bare, so all might learn to share.

We are all Africans in more than mere words, ready to break free,
standing proudly to allow divine light flow deep
within equal souls.
